finishing up, and starting over

I can't believe how quickly this year has gone by! And as the year comes to an end, so does the What's in a Name? challenge. But there is one more prize to be given out. I will be drawing the name of one person who has completed the challenge (don't worry, you still have until the end of the year). To be eligible, simply leave a note in the comments on this post letting me know that you read all six books, and tell me which one was your favorite. (I know many of you have already told me that you finished, but you must leave a comment on this post to be entered in the drawing.)

Okay, that's the finishing up, but what's the starting over? Well, that would be What's In A Name 2! Yes, I'm going to be hosting round 2 in 2009. Click that link to head over to the new blog and check out the new categories. Hope you'll all be joining in again!

Thanks so much to everyone who participated!

I finished a while back! Favorite? Can I pick two--one fiction and one nonfiction? Fiction would be The Bean Trees, and nonfiction would be Isaac's Storm, though I really liked Born on a Blue Day, too. Now to go see what the What's In a Name II is going to be like!

I read all 6 books! Since I already won a wonderful prize, I am not really entering but wanted to say I finished anyway!

I enjoyed all of the books I read but have to say that "Snow Flower and the Secret Fan" was my favorite. I would pass it on to you, but it is MIA somewhere in a long line of reading friends as I couldn't help lending it out as soon as I finished! When it comes back, it is yours...

Can't wait to pick my books for the next challenge!

Thanks for hosting such a unique challenge, Annie! I had a great time and hope to join round 2 next year. I finished earlier this year and I think my favorite was All the Pretty Horses.

thanks for hosting and coming up with such interesting categories. It was one of my favorite challenges to pick books for.

My favorite book was Black Swan Green. No, wait, it was Eleanor Rigby. I can't decide. Both were excellent, and so were all my books. I picked really good books to read.

animal - The Terra-Cotta Dog
first name - Eleanor Rigby
colour - Black Swan Green
place - Yellowknife
weather - The Life and Times of the Thunderbolt Kid
plant - A Tree Grows in Brooklyn

I finished in Sept and posted my completed challenge post here . :)

I'd have a hard time picking, but my favorite was probably the first in a series of Christian fiction books I really enjoyed - Julia's Hope by Leisha Kelly. I also really liked Light on Snow by Anita Shreve.

Ooh, a new challenge, I'll have to go check that out :)

I finished this challenge and had so much fun doing it. I think my favourite read was The Solitude of Thomas Cave, or Death & the Penguin. Both really good. I can't wait to participate again next year!

I finished! It was a great challenge and lots of fun.

My favorite I think is Motherless Brooklyn, it had an engaging character and just pulled me in.

I finished just last week. I'm going to say my favorite book was The Perfect Storm. I had expected it to be kind of dull and full of nothing but facts, but I found it touching and a fitting testimony to the brave men who lost their lives.

I finished my 6th book last week. My favorite of the six was The Ivy Crown by Mary Luke (a novel about Katherine Parr, last wife of Henry VIII). Thanks for hosting the challenge and I'm looking forward to next year's!

I finished and will have a wrap-up post this weekend. 'Favourite' isn't quite the right word because of the subject matter, but Black Rain by Masuji Ibuse is the one that has stayed with me most vividly.
Thanks for hosting! It was a lot of fun. :)

Annie, Mossflower was my favorite without any doubt. Of course, I can't think about Redwall without thinking of you. Hopefully, we can read another one of Brian Jaques' books together again someday soon. Thanks for a great challenge!

This was a wonderful challenge. I really enjoyed finding books to fit into all of the categories. My favorites were Wind Up Bird Chronicle and Alone in the Kitchen With An Eggplant. I could not choose between them. Here is my wrap up post:
